- Abstract:
- The universal right to travel, alongside with the right of developing ones personality in addition to the right to rest and enjoy relaxation as an expression of the universal human rights form the fundamental reason for social tourism. The main objective of this paper is to define social tourism, which through the objectives, population targets and achievements thus far obtained, is seen as one of the most important vectors that bring these rights in practical application. Within this approach, social tourism meets the characteristics of tourism in general or the characteristics of any other kind of traveling and distinguishes itself through the body of consumers it targets and through the way vacations are financed. qualitative research was performed. The questionnaire consisted of open questions structured in two chapters: questions regarding the perception of social tourism and questions regarding the perception towards other forms of tourism. Results are reflected by the profound insight into the benefits and limitations of social tourism.
