- Abstract:
- The article aims to analyze the anthropological content of metaphysical concepts of Sankhya and to answer the question what determines it. The analysis of the metaphysical Sankhya concept showed that when characterizing Purusa and Prakriti as the principle of subjective and objective reality the representatives of this philosophical school use the terms that alongside ontological meaning have also anthropological one. This specificity is manifested in the description of Prakriti evolution process since every stage of the evolution can correlate with various elements of human existence with emotional and intellectual abilities and ending with bodily ones. The problem is new and topical as it addresses the hypothesis that the anthropological character of metaphysical concepts in Sankhya is not typical of other Eastern and Western metaphysical theories. It results from the idea that a human being and universum are alike. The article emphasizes human cosmicality and cosmic anthropopathy presupposing the entwinement of ontological and anthropological aspects of Sankhya metaphysics. This conclusion is based on practical knowledge that makes a human being change their life and become enlightened.
