- Abstract:
- This study aims to reveal the findings about the validity and reliability of the psychological empowerment scale (PES) developed by [1]. Research data has been collected by applying survey to the health institution professionals. Of the total 12 items in the scale, 3 were excluded from the analysis due to their low factor loadings. Factor analysis results of the remaining 9 items were collected under 2 dimensions. In the confirmatory factor analysis, model test values (p <.05); x2 (88.117), x2 / df (3.421), confirmatory Factor Analysis is significant. In addition, fit index values were found to be within the "acceptable harmonization" limits of GFI (.954), CFI (.979), SRMR (.0510), and RMSEA (.082). Composite Reliability (CR) and Convergence Validity (AVE) values for the Psychological Empowerment Scale were calculated for each dimension separately. According to this, the AVE values of all dimensions are 0.50 and the CR values are higher than 0.70. CR values higher than the AVE values (0.50) are expected to be higher than the critical value (0.70). This work does not only make contribution to the literature but also to the managers how to make decision by providing empowerment.
