ACTIVITIES OF THE TATAR STUDIES’ SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY

Abstract:
This paper is devoted to the investigation of the activity of the Tatar studies’ Scientific society during 1923-1929. The latter made a great contribution to the research of language, history and culture of the Tatar people, congregated a great scientists, including well-known Tatar specialists. Professor of Russian history N. Firsov was a chairman of the society from the date of its foundation. M. Hudyakov, E. Chernyshev and G. Rakhim at various times worked there as secretaries. The number of members of the society increased annually, and in 1929 it came to 28 people. Among its board members were such prominent figures as G. Rakhim, J. Validi, G. Gubaidullin, G. Ibragimov, M. Kurbangaliev, G. Maksud, G. Sharaf, G. Sagdi, M. Tagirov, M. Khudyakov, etc. In this work the following research approaches, as descriptive research, document analysis, comparative, induction, observation methods have been exploited.
