NEW SGEM Scientific Online eLibrary
After a long time work, our pride is the absolutely new SGEM Online eLibrary, available here. The Library is created according the rules of the International databases, with a whole needed information and ability to export the article in BIB format. Try and spread your experience with us.
Till we complete the new library with papers from all the years, you can use this link /Full Old Library/, if papers that you need are not visible yet here.

UNDERPASS AS A PUBLIC SPACE AND ITS FACTORS AFFECTING USE

Kristkova, M.; Brazdova, A.
Abstract:
Public space is a general term that can be expressed in various ways. However, any definition is based on the assumption that these are spaces accessible to everyone without restrictions. Public space therefore serves a general purpose, regardless of ownership of that space. One of the types of public spaces is also an extra-level connection - an underpass. The underpasses provide an alternative way to safely overcome potentially dangerous locations due to a certain barrier - especially busy traffic. For the comfortable feeling of users, care should be taken to ensure that the underpasses are carefully cared for and that pedestrians use the underpasses without hindrance and with a sense of security. Various circumstances play a decisive role in a person's decision whether to use public transport or passenger transport. They usually outweigh the benefits of more comfortable passenger transport over public transport. One of the most important decision-making elements is the fact that the safety of the route to the starting point and its overall comfort play an important role in a person's decision (whether to use public transport) - which we often do not find in most underpasses. The main factors of interest were selected, which are divided into two parts - construction and psychological. The construction part, which was assessed including maintenance, is focused in the article on the detection of moisture in the underpasses using a digital hygrometer, a Moist 350 microwave hygrometer and a digital thermometer. While the psychological part deals with the factor of sound, lighting, safety and attractiveness of a place and their effects on users involving several specific spaces and these spaces should be guided by issues of quality, function and occupancy of such a space.
