Emotional function is one of basic functions of family. Fulfilling of this function and positive emotional relationships among family members are essential for creating harmonic and stable environment, optimal for healthy child development and also for the satisfaction of all family members.
Aim of this study was to find out which factors influence affective involvement and affective responsiveness in family. Quantitative research strategy was used. Data were obtained using standardized questionnaire focused on measuring functioning of family system - Family Assessment Device (FAD). 620 respondents were employed in the study (mean age 33,14 ± 15.86; min 11,00, max 82,00).
Study results suggest that dimension of affective involvement is influenced by size and socio-economic status of the family as well as religiosity of its members. Similarly, positive affective responsiveness among family members is associated with socioeconomic status of the family, number of family members and their position in the family system.
