AUTHORITARITY AND SOCIAL DISTANCE IN STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT ETHNICITY IN MACEDONIA

ABSTRACT
Psychological approach in the research of the interethnic relations increased, and takes central places in researches, especially among the middle that are multicultural.
One former explanation of prejudice claims that a certain type of personality –autoritar personality-is particularly prone compared the prejudice (Adorno, Frankl-Brunswick, Levinson and Sanford, 1950). According to this theory, authoritarian personality compliance with the high standards of conducts and feels aggression toward those who are different. Such people | e believe in hierarchical order of in which the people who are above them are followed by increase awards and resources rather than the people that’s on the bottom.
All theoretical consideration and knows in the conducted researches, especially in our country were the motive for the implementation of our research, where population consisted of students at SEE University , which is multilingual in the implementation of the teaching process and multicultural in its structure.
Authoritarian personality is characterize procedures and attitudes of encouragement to the authority, conformity the norms of own group, rigidity and stereotypes of opinions, and it especially in social relations witch is manifested in the stereotypes and prejudices.
Behavioral dimension to the prejudices traditionally is under the category of social distance.
Taking into consideration of the above determination of authoritarianism we assume a huge coincides between high Authoritarianism and social distance (a high degree of severity) among the students at SEE University.
