ABSTRACT
The article presents the trends of architecture development in the XX century in terms of philosophy and human science. It reveals how the architectural principle of searching the unity of function, construction and shape developed throughout the history. Architectural work is a particular projection of the whole spectrum of social activity: it reflects the reality and represents its architectural point of view. Architecture is seen as an interaction, relationship, or even connectivity of a human and space. Among all kind of arts, architecture is the closest one to philosophy: they have a common goal to grasp the nature and determine the place for a human in it. Co-evolution of society and architecture has been in different directions – from ethnic national kinds of architecture, style diversity of industrial development, the International Style without national origin to the development of the Sustainable Architecture (Ecological Design) of the early XXI century. Searching for a new style, debating about design and internal implicit installation constitute the directions of architecture studies in general and the architecture of the XX century in particular. Architecture work is not just the result of development of human area; it is the result of space and human interaction. Still the research question remains the same - how to transfer conceptualized philosophical language into languages of other forms of spiritual realization.
