COLLECTIVE MEMORY OF THE PAST OF THE EUROPEAN NATIONS IN VISUAL MENTAL REPRESENTATIONS – REPORT ON EXPERIMENTAL IMAGOLOGY

ABSTRACT
The paper discusses the pictorial data received in the survey in 1994 and 2012 as the result of the task consisting in drawing a picture of a representative of a given nation. Treated as evidence of mental representations, the pictures are examined on account of the occurrence of the traces of the past and studied as manifestations of dynamic collective memory of the group.
