ABSTRACT

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is becoming popular concept in both academia and business practice. The increasing expectations of stakeholders to transparent and responsible running the business implies the measurement and disclosure of company’s impact on society and the environment. It is the transparency in business practice that is the foundation for building a responsible organization. Ensuring that transparency is linked to effective and clear communication with stakeholders. The paper aims to highlight the role of corporate social responsibility report, which can be used for both internal and external communication process. Only reliable report will provide value to the stakeholders. Recognized reporting standards and mechanisms such as assurance are intended to help improve the content and quality of CSR reports. First part of the paper presents three models of communication with stakeholders and indicates possible types of activity for each of them. Further considerations involve current state of corporate social responsibility reporting practices, taking into account key trends in this area, and main standards supporting the development of CSR reports.
