ABSTRACT
In sectoral research of entrepreneurship there is a deficit of data about medical entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurship of doctors. The medical sector is diverse because it encompasses various size business entities that specialize in many possible aspects of the medical business. It seems, however, that there are some common features of medical entrepreneurship which are worth investigating. The result of such analyses could be the construction of models of medical entrepreneurship, which would allow a better understanding of this interdisciplinary phenomenon combining the problems of management, economics and health sciences. The result of the study could also be a program of support for medical entrepreneurship, which would be of major social importance.
The aim of the paper is the conceptualization of notions of medical entrepreneurship, used in the literature of the subject. The perspective of medical entrepreneurship, aimed at cognitive and practical purposes, will also be explored. The article begins with a review of definitions of entrepreneurship that has been linked to the medical profession and the role of the social physician. Next, an attempt was made to define medical entrepreneurship. The article is closed with the catalog of research questions that are worth taking into account during the analyses of medical entrepreneurship.
