ABSTRACT

A good leader might be the difference between success and failure in the contemporary ever changing business environment. Leadership is crucial to employee motivation, employee satisfaction, productivity and overall business performance. It includes a variety of elements and success techniques, although personal characteristics should not be underestimated. A complex connection of interpersonal relations and communications is created in any leader-follower situation. Although several theoretical approaches have been created in the study of leaders and leadership, it is commonly accepted that a clear vision and awareness of mission, creativity, flexibility, team cohesiveness skills, communication and ability to influence other people ways of thinking and acting are among the mail elements common to leaders worldwide. The papers strives to provide an analysis of leadership in contemporary business environment, while emphasizing the role and importance of leaders as coaches and their importance in introducing and managing change within business organizations. Ethical leadership, strategic leadership and virtual leadership are among the many approaches analyzed in the paper.
